Walton's Two Piers and The Pier Hotel (Formerly The Clifton Hotel)
The first pier was built opposite the Marine Hotel in 1830 and was destroyed by winter storms in January 1881
Construction of the second pier, which is still present today, commenced on 26th April 1869.

Both piers were originally constructed to enable steam ships to berth in deep water although until such time as they were lengthened
it was necessary for local boatmen to ferry passenger to and fro.
